Mission

As a laboratory coordinator at Soucy, you will be at the heart of our operations, ensuring that every component delivered by our suppliers meets the highest industry standards. Your role will involve validating, inspecting, and approving parts to ensure they meet our customers’ requirements. In addition to coordinating and monitoring corrective and preventive actions, you will actively contribute to the evolution of our quality system, ensuring that every issue is resolved with a sustainable solution. Your expertise will be essential to maintaining and improving the quality of our products throughout the entire supply chain!


In this position, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Coordinate laboratory activities and manage priorities with the team
  • Ensure that inspections are conducted rigorously and that reports are sent to clients
  • Conduct process audits and follow up on corrective actions in the event of non-compliance
  • Manage alloy quarantines
  • Perform mechanical tests on various types of cast iron and sand: (LOI, tensile strength, particle size, permeability, and hardness)
  • Perform chemical analyses of cast iron using spectrography
  • Analyze cast iron: cut samples, polish, perform chemical etching, and analyze under a microscope
  • Document analysis results according to established procedures
  • Perform all other related tasks

Profile

With the following skills and qualities, you will be successful in this role:

  • Relevant college education (metallurgy, chemistry, mechanical engineering, or other)
  • Any equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ability to work independently
  • Ability to make decisions
  • Stable and responsible individual
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
