Reporting to the Intellectual Property Engineer, your main duties will be to :
- Participate in the evaluation of new concepts to identify potential innovations
- Conduct prior art searches
- Participate in the drafting of patent applications
- Coordinate the monitoring of new patents with engineering teams
- Analyze existing patents
- Participate in the evaluation of potential issues of encroachment on third-party intellectual property rights by products offered by Soucy
Profile
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Academic or professional experience in mechanical engineering
- Bachelor's or technical degree in engineering (an asset)
- Experience with patents (asset)
- Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience
- Bilingualism (French and English) for searching, drafting and translating patent-related documents
- Interest in product development and/or research and development (R&D) (an asset)
- Interest in artificial intelligence and/or robotics (asset)
- Minutia, patience and ability to maintain concentration over long periods of time
- Organizational skills and ability to manage documentation in a structured manner
- Self-reliance and resourcefulness
