As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will help improve our production equipment by combining design, innovation, and technical problem-solving. You will contribute to real-world projects focused on process optimization, mechanical design, and automation, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions that enhance the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our operations.
- Participate in the design, improvement, and commissioning of production equipment
- Conduct technical studies to improve equipment performance, reliability, and safety
- Perform on-site assessments and analyses to identify improvement opportunities
- Contribute to the design of parts, tooling, and mechanical systems using CAD software
- Develop and update engineering drawings, technical plans, and documentation
- Collaborate on automation and manufacturing process improvement projects
- Participate in failure analysis and root cause investigations of mechanical issues
- Contribute to the implementation of solutions aimed at reducing costs, downtime, and production losses
- Participate in risk assessments and equipment safety evaluations
- Collaborate with maintenance, production, quality, and health and safety teams
- Conduct testing, validation, and follow-up activities to measure the effectiveness of implemented solutions
- Prepare and present the results of analyses along with recommendations
- Perform any other duties related to the internship as required
Profile
- Currently enrolled in a university program in Mechanical Engineering
- Completed at least one year of university studies
- Knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or equivalent
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and mechanical systems
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (an asset)
- Knowledge of continuous improvement principles and Lean Manufacturing (an asset)
Ready to join us? We're looking forward to meeting you! This internship runs from January 5 to April 16, 2027. You'll work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and benefit from a flexible schedule.
